Ingredients for chocolate avocado mousse

The ingredients for this sugar-free avocado sauce are easy to find and very common. To make this keto dessert, you only need 7 ingredients and a food processor.

  • Ripe Avocados– Make sure your avocados are ripe; if not, let them ripen to use in this recipe.
  • Dutch cocoa powder is the best cocoa powder that makes this mousse ultra-chocolatey.
  • Coconut Cream– I like to use canned coconut cream to make a vegan chocolate avocado mousse, but if you have the option, use the same amount of heavy cream instead. It makes this low-carb avocado mousse really creamy!
  • Powdered sweetener – I used my favorite powdered sweetener, Monk fruit, which has no aftertaste. You can prepare the sweetener powder in a clean food processor.
  • Vanilla Extract –here you need to use a high quality vanilla extract!
  •   Saltenhances the taste of chocolate, so it should not be omitted. This does not make the mousse salty, it just enhances the flavor.
  • Unsweetened Vegetable Milk– use only if foam is too thick to facilitate mixing process.

How to make chocolate mousse with avocado?

Low Carb Keto Avocado Mousse is incredibly easy to make in just two steps:

  1. Remove the pit and skinof 2 to 3 ripe avocados.
  2. Blend the avocado and other ingredients in a food processor until creamy.

Well, there is one more step and that is eating that delicious chocolate avocado.

You can serve it directly into the bowl of the food processor if you prefer the texture of a custard, or refrigerate it for a few hours to make a thick mousse.

Tips for making the best chocolate avocado mousse

If you prefer a sweeter avocado mousse, add an extra tablespoon or two of sweetener. Taste and adjust the sweetness.

  • Usesugar-free melted chocolate instead of cocoa powder to give the keto mousse an even richer chocolate flavor.
  • Make sure your avocados are perfectly ripe. Overripe avocados don’t taste good, and they’re not suitable for this mousse recipe.
  • Add a few tablespoons of unsweetened milk if the foam seems too thick. You can also use heavy cream if you don’t want dairy-free chocolate avocado pudding.
  • Serve chilled:This mousse is incredibly delicious as a pudding, served immediately after mixing, but is best chilled for several hours.

How to serve keto chocolate mousse

This vegan keto avocado mousse is already incredibly delicious, but there are a few additions that can completely change the game. Here are some low-carb ingredients I like to add:

  • Coconut Flakes
  • Unsweetened chocolate pieces
  • Fresh berries
  • Sugar-free whipped cream
  • Toasted grated almonds

You don’t like avocados at all? Try my keto chocolate mousse instead, which is also super rich and creamy!

Is this chocolate avocado mousse tasty?

Honestly, the earthy flavor of the avocado is completely lost when you mix it with Dutch cocoa powder and sweetener. The avocado plays an important role, making this mousse very thick, rich and creamy.

Can salt be omitted?

NO. Don’t forget to add a pinch of salt to this simple avocado dessert. This gives a rich cocoa taste.

Storage of food waste

This chocolate and avocado mousse can be frozen. Store in an airtight container in the freezer for several months. When you’re ready to eat it, let it thaw, blend it again in a blender and enjoy it in place of ice cream.
